About Us

Donnellys Castle was a granite hideout site used by the famous bushranger Captain Thunderbolt.

Originally part of the neighbouring property Biltmore Cellars, the Zanatta family donated the area of land now known as Donnelly's Castle as a wonderland for public use.  The area is maintained by the local Lions Club.

With many large granite outcrops and meadering paths, there's lots to explore.  There's also an easy climb to the lookout area to get a view of the district spanning from Thulimbah through to Stanthorpe town.

If you're lucky enough you might even run into the Yowie!

There's picnic tables and a toilet available here.
